What are you creating each day?

In fact, just three drivers combine to create or sabotage your performance and enjoyment each day.
 
Of course, each one has its components, just like your job and  
organisation, but in effect 3 drivers create your results... they are:
You choose how you feel
 
 
How you feel: The energy you create to achieve results, is triggered or fed by how you think.
 
Try this: Imagine somebody you like... respect coming into your office now, take a few moments to
see their face, hear their voice... see what they’re wearing; what do you notice; are you smiling, are you
Neither is actually in the room, but
your thought process has caused you
to feel differently... to want to act or behave differently towards them thus driving your results; what’s going on?
 
 
Effectiveness cycle
 
You’ve just gone through a  ‘think-feel-act’ or effectiveness cycle that people go through hundreds of times per day,
How you think, feel and act (behave).
 
 
 
Thinking is the map that defines your life
feeling relaxed… happy? 
 
 
Now think of the ‘last person on earth’ you’d want to see right now;
how does that feel... check your body do you have a tight feeling in
your stomach, a lump in your throat... are you frowning? 
 
 
What’s just happened?  Well, you’ve had an emotional and energetic
without paying the slightest bit of attention to it;  so is it any wonder that effectiveness, enjoyment... success suffers?! 
 
 
What's in it for you!
How you think: When you get down to basics, it turns out that you and I have beliefs or rules, if you like, that outline what you believe is possible, what’s important to you... how you see and make sense of the world you operate in daily e.g.
response to your thoughts; your 2nd driver has kicked in and is just about to trigger the 3rd.
Ok, let’s cut to the chase: how do these drivers really work; what are they going to do for you...  for your effectiveness, satisfaction levels... personal... company success? 
For you, success may mean helping others develop their careers, to another it’s about having nice cars, houses… holidays.
 
Now, it’s easy to get hung up on ‘personality profiling’ people to try and  explain why but actually, at the grass roots level where you create lasting changes, fundamentals show that we all have a map in our head, a map that very precisely defines how you see the world and interact with it.
 Your behaviour supports or sabotages you
 
 
How you act: Think of this ‘last person on earth’ again and imagine them asking you to do task ‘x’; on a 0-10 scale where 0 is ‘You’d rather stick pins in your...’ how much do you want to do ‘x’, honestly! 
Well, we’ve begun the process with this little bit of insight into what’s really going on with people; insight that affects everybody no matter where you are in your career or how much success you already have.
 
 
And we'll be building on this in future articles, so you can develop a career... an organisation that's more enjoyable, effective and sustainable in success.

Of course, this has huge implications on what you or an individual can achieve and then goes on to create in your organisation.  But it’s only the first driver, so what happens next?
 
Ok, take a deep breath and as you exhale think of the person you like
asking you to do ‘x’, what 0-10 score do you give it and the difference between the two is how much?
